Interest in the “Sports Fishing” course, one of the Non-Departmental Elective Courses of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology, is increasing.

With applied activities at Sea, students from the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture, set out to sea with ÇOMÜ’s Bilim-1 (Science-1) Research Vessel in order to learn practical techniques of sports fishing.

“Young Crews” who enjoy casting their lines with the wind breeze of the Canakkale Strait, learn the selection of equipment, fishing techniques for different fish species.

The Sport Fishing Course aims to provide students knowledge of the marine ecosystem and to gain awareness of Environmental Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility.

While ÇOMÜ Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology continues to provide qualified and practical education in the field of marine sciences to its students, it will also continue to offer this opportunity to students from different disciplines of the university.
