As part of the “Ecosystem Services Restoration Project in Lake Bafa and the Büyük Menderes Delta” Protocol signed between Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and WWF Wildlife Foundation, Turkey, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan AYYILDIZ, a faculty member of the Department of Fisheries Industry Engineering, represented the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology and participated as a project advisor at the “2nd Technical Workshop on Improving the Habitat and Migration of European Eel” held in Aydın on November 21, 2024.

Representatives of the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquatic Products (BSGM) and Nature Conservation National Parks (DKMP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, representatives of Aydın and Söke Municipalities, NGOs, Mukhtars, and Headmen of Aquatic Products Cooperatives participated the Workshop held under the auspices of the Aydın Governorship. The rehabilitation of Eel migration routes and the problems and solutions of the Menderes Delta were evaluated in the form of group studies. At the end of the workshop, it was decided that the work was continuing efficiently and that the 3rd Technical Workshop would be held in April.
