Numerous research projects with regional private hatcheries, seafood companies, and commercial fisherman are underway.

An academic and educational collaboration with Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology has been established in 2003. This program allows exchange of undergraduate and graduate students to further their knowledge in the field of fisheries science.

In recent years, joint research projects with University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis and joint research projects with University of New Hempshire, USA have been successfully completed.
